Our Q&A with producers of The Sims 3 has revealed that getting your Sims into trouble in the new game isn’t that difficult…

The game is full of moral choices.  Some of them are presented to the player as career Opportunities.  I don’t want to give too much away on this subject.  A lot of the moral choices in the game come from the social simulator, and this is where the game becomes so compelling.  A lot of players use the game to explore moral questions in their own lives.  It’s sort of a “what if” simulator. For example, your Sim can choose to Whoohoo at work, but if they get caught then both Sims run out of the office naked. Now, that could be a lesson you don’t want to learn in the real world!

Damn - imagine that!

I can already foresee a raft of possible Sims 3 mods, allowing the player to completely ruin a Sims life.  What a marvellous idea, though - try out the naughty things on your Sim, as well as the ambitions that you hold in life!

My list of “naughty Sim” mods would have to include:

1. Bitter Sim - purchase and use of illegal substances
2. Bottle of Sim - drinking to much
3. Sim Bin - living on the streets (the result of both of the above?)

Of course, I’m talking mods here - but who’s to say they won’t be features in The Sims 3…?
